Title: Bald Eagle Nest Locations

Abstract: The data set contains polygons derived from records from the following data sources: NHIS Observation Database, USFWS, eBird, iNaturalist, and independent datasets compiled by various Nongame Wildlife staff.

Purpose: Bald Eagle nest locations identified in Minnesota for use in environmental review. Individual polygons comprise at least one known Bald Eagle nest and may contain multiple nests.

Lineage: Point coordinates of Bald Eagle nest observations are included from the above datasets and buffered by varying levels of precision depending on the data. The resulting polygons are then dissolved, such that overlapping polygons become single grouped polygons representing one or more nest locations.
