This data layer is the 2013 North spring orthophotography. It originated from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) and includes Carlton, Clay, Itasca, Mille Lacs, and Wilkin counties; Fond du Lac and White Earth reservations; and Camp Ripley at a 0.5 meter resolution. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. As a result of this, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
