This data layer is the 2019 statewide summer orthophotography. It originated from the Farm Service Agency (United States Department of Agriculture) and was captured at a 1 meter resolution as part of the National Agricultural Imagery Program. There are noticeable color variations between imagery captured during the growing season and after harvest. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. As a result of this, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
