ACS – Median Household Income

This data layer displays the Median Household Income in U.S. dollars by Census Tract. It includes the income of all individuals 15 years old and older residing in the same household over a 12 month period. It was developed by the Metropolitan Council and the Natural Resources Research Institute using data from the American Community Survey's (ACS) five-year summary for 2017 to 2021. The ACS is conducted on an annual basis by the US Census Bureau, and provides more timely data than the Census for identifying trends in a community. ACS data provides survey-collected demographic, social, economic, commuting, and housing statistics, which can be useful for project planning.
