Extent of available data.
This data layer identifies Conservation Opportunity Areas. It was developed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Conservation Opportunity Areas have been identified as high-priority conservation areas through the use of Marxan conservation software. They also meet additional criteria that include having significant and valuable natural features, local partners to work with, and a consensus on conservation goals and objectives that facilitate species mobility. These areas have been identified as having high conservation value and high viability, and they should be considered for preservation projects.
