Extent of available data.
This data layer is the National Agricultural Statistics Survey (NASS) crop-specific land cover data for the year 2016. It was developed by the US and Minnesota Departments of Agriculture. Agriculture is an important economic activity in Minnesota. A variety of crops are grown throughout the state and they require different inputs and management strategies. Knowing where and what types of crops are planted can indicate what activities are taking place on the landscape and how they might affect the surrounding environment.
