This data layer is 2011 Fall Orthophotography produced from imagery containing four bands of red, green, blue, and infrared (RGBI). It originated from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Surdex Corporation and covers areas of Aitkin, Anoka, Benton, Carlton, Chisago, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Pine, Sherburne, the northern portion of Washington counties in east-central Minnesota, and Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona counties in southeast Minnesota at a 0.5 meter resolution. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. As a result, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
