This dataset shows where tree damage was delineated in aerial surveys in 2016. It was developed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Flights primarily occurred in late June and July. The most common disturbers include spruce budworm, eastern larch beetle, wind, larch casebearer, aspen decline, forest tent caterpillar, flooding, emerald ash borer, jack pine budworm, and twolined chestnut borer. This survey indicates where significant tree defoliation and mortality occurred and aids in monitoring trends in forest health conditions.
