Forest Health Survey – 2019

This dataset shows where tree damage was delineated in aerial surveys in 2019. It was developed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Flights occurred from late June to early September. The most common disturbers includeeastern larch beetle, spruce budworm, aspen decline, flooding, larch casebearer, wind, bark beetles, emerald ash borer (surveyed in 2018), forest tent caterpillar, jack pine budworm, fire, and twolined chestnut borer. This survey indicates where significant tree defoliation and mortality occurred and aids in monitoring trends in forest health conditions.
