Extent of available data.
This data layer identifies the 2020 Impaired Streams. It was developed by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). Impaired Streams have been identified by the MPCA as failing to meet one or more water quality standards. These standards have been developed to indicate when waters are no longer drinkable, swimmable, fishable, or usable in other designated ways. If a stream is listed as impaired in Minnesota, it is required that a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) be developed for the impairment. A TMDL outlines a plan to address the impairment and remove the stream from the list.
