This data layer is 2009 Summer Orthophotography. It originated from The US Geological Survey and covers part of the Lake Superior shore of Wisconsin, including the Apostle Islands, at a 0.3 meter resolution. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. As a result, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
