This data layer identifies the underground mine parcels within portions of the Mesabi Range. It was developed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and is the Public Land Survey data for documented land parcels/properties associated with underground natural iron ore mines on the Mesabi Range east of the Itasca/St. Louis county line. It also includes adjacent parcels/properties where there is potential for undocumented underground features and/or underground trespass. This information can be used for mapping, documentation, monitoring, analysis, and land use planning purposes.
