Native Plant Communities – Potential

This data layer identifies the Potential Native Plant Communities of the Eastern Broadleaf and Laurentian Mixed Forest Provinces, along with the Tallgrass Aspen Parklands. It was developed by the Natural Resources Research Institute and used a model based on soil, geomorphology, geology, vegetation, climate, and other information to predict the plant communities throughout the Province. This information can allow natural resource planners to make more informed decisions on projects that involve vegetation.
