This data layer is the 2009 Northeast spring orthophotography. It originated from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) and partners and includes Carlton, Cook, Lake, and St. Louis Counties at a 0.5 meter resolution. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. As a result of this, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
