This data layer is the Pollination Metric of the Parcel Environment Benefit Assessment Tool (PEBAT). It was developed by the University of Minnesota. PEBAT was created to assist in the prioritization of public land acquisitions in Minnesota. It uses the 40-acre public land survey parcels as summary units and has 11 metrics. The Pollination Metric identifies areas that are likely to have high pollinator abundance and are in close proximity to pollinator-dependent crops. Pollinators serve a crucial role in our food supply. Identifying and protecting areas that are capable of supporting healthy populations of pollinators can help maintain pollination capacity.
