This data layer is 2008 and 2009 Spring Orthophotography. It originated from the International Water Institute and covers the Minnesota portion of the Red River Basin at a 0.5 meter resolution as part of the Red River Basin Mapping Initiative 2008-2010 project. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. As a result, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
