This data layer indicates the five ecological Sections within the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council (LSOHC) across the state. It was created by the Minnesota Legislative Coordinating Commission. The LSOHC was established to provide recommendations for projects funded by the Outdoor Heritage Fund - one of the funds created by the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment. The proceeds "may be spent only to restore, protect, and enhance wetlands, prairies, forest and habitat for fish, game, and wildlife." These projects can benefit the environment of the surrounding area and have a positive impact on nearby communities. These data indicate where and how these public resources are being invested.
