Extent of available data.
This data layer depicts the Terrestrial Ecological Units in the Chippewa National Forest. It was developed by the US Forest Service (USFS). The mapped land types represent ecological units with predicted structure, function, responses, and management opportunities and limitations. Units are mapped based on environmental factors including climate, geology, geomorphology, water, soils, and potential vegetation. Delineated land types support USFS forest-level activity planning, implementation, and monitoring in the Chippewa National Forest.
