Topography – Digital Elevation Model – 3 meter

This data layer is a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with a resolution of 3 meters. It was developed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources using Lidar that was collected in 2019. A DEM is a representation of the earth's topography. An accurate understanding of the topography of an area and the elevation of specific locations is vital to understanding the physical and biological processes that are occurring both on the landscape and in the atmosphere. Elevation data supports many applications, including hydrologic modeling, infrastructure planning, forest resource assessment, and environmental monitoring.
